    Chris Lund Memorial Scholarship One $2,000 will be granted to an Arlington High School Graduate of the year 2018.  Applicant must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA to be eligible.  Applications can be picked up in the outer guidance office. Deadline April 3, 2019

    Build Dakota Scholarship

     South Dakota State DAR Scholarship for Military Decendants.  This scholarship is for students who are a direct descendant of a United States Military Veteran.  Includes legally adoped descendents.  The term "Veteran" refers to former and current members of the United States Armed Forces, including members of the National Guard.  Information can be found in the outer guidance office.  Deadline:  February 15,  2019

     

     LATI/Winter Farm Show  and The Fred Morris Mimorial/Gene and Mary Lois Reichling Memorial Scholarship Program  For students whose families have been actively involved in the Watertown Winter Farm show.  Applications can be found in the outer guidance office.  Deadline:  Oct. 15,  2018

    Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation  Scholarships Visit www.sfacf.org to search scholarships that you qualify to apply? Deadline:  March 15, 2019  
    The Horatio Alger Denny Sanford Scholarship https://The Horatio Alger Denny Sanford Scholarship provides a $10,000 scholarship to be disbursed throughout a student’s collegiate career. Like all Horatio Alger Scholarships, the Horatio Alger Denny Sanford scholarship assists high school students who have faced great obstacles in their young lives to overcome their adversities, attend a post-secondary institution, and achieve success. To be eligible for the Horatio Alger Denny Sanford Scholarship a student must meet the following criteria: Be committed to complete a bachelor’s degree at University of South Dakota Be a current high school senior with plans to enroll in college Fall 2019 Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or less family income required) Be involved in community service activities Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 Be a United States citizen  Students may apply online!

     

     Michael J. Entringer Scholarship   *   Applicants must be a graduating senior from a participating school in the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Basketball Classics or Brookings High School.
      *   Participated in high school sports for two or more years, and exhibited good sportsmanship.
      *   Participation includes athletes, cheerleaders, student managers and statisticians.
      *   Scholarship funds must be used for post-secondary education expenses the first year followings graduation.

    Ethics Scholarship Two $1,000 scholarships will be presented to 2018 Arlington High School graduates.  For application requirements and mor details pick up an application in the outer guidance office.  See Mr. Gilbertson. Deadline:  April 1, 2019

     

    Sioux Valley Energy Member Scholarship Must be a child of a Sioux Valley Energy customer.  Forms are available in the outer guidance office or on the web at www.siouxvalleyenergy.com or by calling 1-800-234-1960. Deadline:  Jan 18, 2019  
    Karst Memorial Scholarship Students must be going to an agricultural/conservation related field and attending a South Dakota college or Vocational School.   Deadline?????  

    Dave Prohl Memorial Scholarship

    Applicant must be a 2015 graduating senior from Arlington High School; must have an accumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; must be accepted to an accredited post secondary institution; and must have been active in school activities.

     OppU Achievers Scholarhsip   Scholarship Name: OppU Achievers Scholarship
    Criteria: To be eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, a student must: Be enrolled full time in high school or at least part time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school; Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0; Be a U.S. citizen.

    Bellator Titans Motorcycle Club Scholarship Criteria:  Students must be hardworking, motivated to succeed, attend an in state post secondary institution and have financial need.  Applications can be found in the outer guidance office or from Mr. Gilbertsons. Deadline:  March 16, 2019

     Kingbrook Rural Water Scholarships  This scholarship program is designed to encourage and recognize the achievements of children of members of the Kingbrook rural water System and to assist them in improving themeslves through persuit of higher eucation.  Applications can be found in the outer guidance office.  Deadline:  February 22,  2019
     Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation scholarships  SFACF has more than 50 different scholarship opportunities avaiable for students heading to college in the fall.  Awards range from $250-$5,000per academic year.  Seniors can search and complete applications directly throught our website-  www.sfacf.org  Deadlines for various scholarships will vary
    Lori (Ringaard) Knutsen Memorial Scholarship Lori was a 1978 graduate from Arlington High school.  A $250 scholarship has will be presented to one AHS graduate in her honor.  Criteria:  Female, involved in athletics and band, strong service record, and character.  Information can be picked up in the outer guidance office.      Inez Taylor Walter Scholarship Fund

    The Inez Taylor Walter Scholarship Fund was established by Harley Taylor in memory of his sister, Inez Walter who was from the Ipswich area. The scholarship is for high school students in South Dakota. Preference in awarding this scholarship will be given to a student planning on attending a South Dakotaa or North Dakota college or university in the field of nursing.

    Lyle Signs Scholarship

    Lyle Signs, Inc. is proud to make avaialbe four Scholarships to aid Kinsbury area students in post-secondary education.

    - 2 Scholarships @ $1,000

    Eligilibity Terms & Conditions:

     Mulligan Open Scholarship

     The Mulligan Open Scholarship is sponsored by the friends and family of the late Doug Rogers, as a memorial in his honor. Doug was a former teacher and coach at Arlington High School. He spent many years as a volunteer coach for the girls basketball program teaching and mentoring young people. He was an avid fan of all of the activties at Arliington High School and attended and supported the kids every chance he had. Doug spent many hours on a lawn mower as he volunteered his time at the footbal filed maintaining the grounds.

     

    Doug was an avid golfer who loved to spend time with family and friends on the golf course, thus they felt the perfect name for the scholarship was the Mulligan Open Scholarship. A non-renewable scholarship of $300 will be presented to a deserving high school senior who will attend college or technical school. 2.5 GPA or higher is required. Forms and applications can be found in outer guidance office.

     First District Development Company Scholarship

     This scholarship is offered to five students, each recieving $1,000 in scholarship. These students MUST be pursuing a post-secondary degree in a busniess/finance related field. 

    Elgible if the following criteria is met:

    • Be a U.S. citizen
    • Be a high school senior attending a SD High School
    • Be accepted into a business/finance program at an accredited, post-secondary insitution in South Dakota
    • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater, calculated on a 4.0 grading scale
    • Submit an application (with documentation) by April 1st, 2019

     SD Weed & Pest Conference Scholarship

     To be eligible for a Weed Fighter's Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

    1. Must be a cirizen of the United State, and a South Dakota resident
    2. Must be a HS graduate, funding after you complete one semster in college
    3. A post-seoncdary student with an agriculture production, precision farming, agronomy or entomology filed of study in a SD College, University or Technical School

    Minimum scholarship to be awarded is $500 or more.

    2 scholarships will be awarded, one to a high school graduate and one to a college student. Attach a written essay, appplication form, and unofficial HS or college transcript.

    Kingsbury Conservation District Scholarship  The Kingsbury Consevation District will offer up to 4 $250 scholarships.  Applications can be picked up in the outer guidance office.  Deadline March 31,  2019
     TransCanada Opportunity Scholarship

    Could you or someone you know use some help with post-secondary education expenses? The TransCanada Scholarship program is offering more than 250 scholarships across the U.S. in values of $2,500, $5,000 and up to $10,000!

     

    Applications are now open and students have until May 17, 2019 at 11:59:59 p.m. EST to submit their applications.

     MMA Scholarship  
    1. Will graduate from a South Dakota high school (or have earned or will earn a high school equivalency diploma) by the end of the 2018-19 academic year;

    2. Currently hold a GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale;

    3. Are not and have not previously been enrolled in a four-year institution or bachelor program

      (not counting credits earned in a pre-college or dual enrollment program in high school);

    4. Intend to enroll full-time in an accredited university or technical institute no later than the Fall

      term of 2019-20 academic year;

    To apply for the scholarship:

    1. Complete the scholarship application in full;

    2. Include two letters of recommendation who are not a family member;

    3. Mail in completed materials no later than May 10th;

    4. Only complete applications with all required supporting materials received by the deadline will

      be considered

    Award guidelines for scholarship:

    To be eligible for scholarship payment, all applicants for academic scholarships must provide written proof of enrollment in the program for which a scholarship is sought before the funds are released. Proof of enrollment must be sent directly from the university or technical school and generally takes theform of a letter from the registrar’s office. This only needs to be done after you have been announced as a recipient.

    Award:

     SDAA/DJ Fischer Foundation Scholarship  

    The South Dakota Aviation Association (SDAA) is an organization comprised of Aerial Applicators and allies from associated industries doing business in South Dakota. In an effort to assist young people in South Dakota pursuing higher education, the SDAA will award one or multiple scholarships up to the amount of $3,000 annually, if the criteria is met by one or more applicants. The SDAA Board of Directors will select the winner(s).

    The DJ Fischer Foundation is an organization founded in memory of DJ Fischer, who was an Aerial Applicator, that invests in youth and communities. They will award an additional scholarship up to $1,000 to one or more Applicants meeting the criteria. The DJ Fischer Foundation Board Members will select the winner(s).

    All Applicants must be sponsored by a SDAA Member. The award can be used for continued education at a college, university, technical school or approved flight training program for a future career that is related to or will benefit the Aerial Application Industry. Scholarship funds will be disbursed to the school of choice once the winner(s) is/are selected.

     Curtis Marvin Hohn Legacy Scholarship

     This scholarship is given in honor of the life and work of Curtis M. Hohn: South Dakota state water policy leader, public servant, and commnity activist. Applicants should reflect the values emodied by Curt Hohn's life. These characteristics may include, but are not limited to: personal integrity, individual character, and courage; leadership in school and community; demonstrated involvement in civic affairs; participation in organizations that shape the school and community; individual leadership; demonstrated work ethic; demonstrated interest in national and global issues; and demonstrated interest in humanitarian issues.
